**Germany**: Volkswagen Group has confirmed a partnership with Dassault Systèmes to implement the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, enhancing their vehicle development process through digital transformation. This initiative aims to improve collaboration and efficiency while addressing compliance and sustainability challenges in the rapidly evolving automotive sector.

Volkswagen Group has confirmed a long-term partnership with Dassault Systèmes aimed at enhancing its digital infrastructure for vehicle development through the implementation of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This strategic move underscores the growing significance of digital transformation within the automotive sector, particularly in how supplier relationships are critical to achieving digital success.

By adopting the 3DEXPERIENCE platform—primarily cloud-based—teams across Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche will utilise virtual twins. This technology enables extensive simulation and testing during the vehicle development process, allowing for a more collaborative and efficient workflow. Such advancements are seen as essential not just for engineering optimisation but also for ensuring compliance with expanding global regulations and sustainability imperatives.

Hauke Stars, Board Member at Volkswagen Group for IT, emphasised the importance of this partnership: “We are advancing the development of our next-generation IT system landscape, and the decision to partner with Dassault Systèmes marks an important milestone.” He noted that by leveraging consistent data streams and AI solutions, Volkswagen aims to achieve significant reductions in IT costs while accelerating development processes.

The strategic initiative is further supported by Pascal Daloz, CEO of Dassault Systèmes, who stated, “Industry evolutions in the context of the Generative Economy are compelling automotive companies to make transformative decisions.” He highlighted the potential for the partnership to unify hardware and software innovations within Volkswagen’s operations, which is expected to stimulate a substantial software-driven transformation within the company.

Volkswagen will deploy four specific industry solution experiences from Dassault Systèmes, namely: Global Modular Architecture, Smart, Safe and Connected, Efficient Multi-Energy Platform, and On-Target Vehicle Launch. These solutions are aimed at fostering enhanced collaboration, efficiency, and responsiveness across the supply chain.

This agreement signals a significant step in supply chain digitization, reflecting broader trends in the automotive industry, where reliance on digital tools and platforms is becoming a key component of generating revenue and improving overall operational effectiveness. As automakers increasingly lean into technology and strong supplier relationships, the potential for innovation and competitive advantage in a rapidly changing market is substantial.
